June 2008 eLetter
I am writing to you today exactly four weeks from the day of my back surgery. So many of you sent emails expressing encouragement and assuring us of your prayers. It meant so much to us; I cannot express my appreciation enough. I am recovering well, though still taking it slow. I cannot sit or stand for extended periods of time, but I already feel better than I have in five years. I am so thankful to the Lord for his protection and for all that transpired to place me in the hands of such a highly capable surgeon, for the continued recovery, and for friends such as you who stood by me and the entire RZIM team with your prayer commitment to us. We value your friendship with this ministry and pray for you as well.
I hope once more your hearts are encouraged as you read all that is happening with the team around the world. This week Stuart, Amy, and Alison just began the third annual RZIM Summer Institute held at Wheaton College, and the team in the U.K. office prepares for the Summer School to begin in a few weeks time. Yet even as the current team travels and speaks, more committed and remarkable individuals are being identified to grow this work to reach more of the hurting and questioning of this world with the beauty and credibility of the Gospel. Thank you so much for the part you play in this work. Please don't hesitate to contact us if there is any way we can serve you. We would be privileged to do so.
Engaging Today's Culture with RZIM:
- Summer Offer
Our Summer Offer is now available featuring RZIM's latest products including Ravi Zacharias's three new books, The End of Reason, New Birth or Rebirth: Jesus Talks to Krishna, and Is There Not a Cause? (the official book of the National Day of Prayer). The offer also includes two new CD sets, "By Whose Standards?" and "The Gospel Yesterday, Today, and Forever," featuring messages from RZIM's itinerant speakers, and the much anticipated DVD "Is America Really Christian?," featuring Ravi Zacharias and comedian Jeff Foxworthy. Click here to see the offer and order. - Is America Really Christian? DVD
Does "In God We Trust" define us? At what point should religious morality become law? Is America really about life, liberty, and the pursuit of the Christian way? We are living at a time when Western culture and values have their footings firmly planted in mid-air. America is castigated by the religious world for being so secular and by the secular world for being too religious. Why this confusion? These feature presentations include messages and Q&A by Ravi Zacharias, Michael Ramsden, and comedian Jeff Foxworthy before a crowd of 3,500 at the Atlanta Civic Center. Experience an unforgettable evening of reflection, laughter, and soul-stirring answers to the spiritual questions of our time. You can view a clip of this DVD on our homepage or click here to purchase this DVD. - RZIM's New Website!
RZIM has a new website! Please visit http://www.rzim.org/ to see our new site, which now encompasses all six regional offices and offers updated apologetic information, online broadcasts, daily devotionals, and more. You can also learn about upcoming RZIM events, see where our itinerants are speaking around the world, download podcasts, and view RZIM videos.

United Kingdom Amy Orr-Ewing spoke on Islam and Eastern religions to the eight-week OCCA students from June 4-5. She then left to speak at The Summer Institute in Wheaton, Illinois, the week of June 15-20.
Beginning June 5, Michael Ramsden substituted for Ravi at a three-day event called Truth Search '08 in Kitchener, Ontario, organized by The Watchmen Quartet. The event, which concluded on June 7, featured Steve Green as the guest musician and Michael as the keynote speaker. Michael also preached at both morning services at Emmanuel Baptist Church, in Barrie, Ontario, on June 8. He is very grateful to the Lord for his presence during the meetings in Canada. He was encouraged to see several people come to Christ at the services he spoke at during both events.
India As usual, the India team had a very busy month.
At the beginning of the month, Prakash Yesudian spoke in a local church. Although he prepared to preach on Christian mission, in the end he spoke on the Christian family. After the service many were counseled and asked for prayer. It was a wonderful time of ministry.
At an open forum held in Delhi on June 7, Cyril Georgeson spoke on the topic "Search for Meaning in Life."
Balajied Nongrum spoke at a weekend apologetics seminar in Jowai called "Persuader" on June 13 and 14.

He was able to share the vision of RZIM with a special focus on the resources, Academy, Truth @Life, and Fingerprints initiatives in India during this event. Rev. Andrews then conducted the morning worship service of Jayanagar Methodist Church in Bangalore on June 15. He is trying to devote much of his time to preparation for upcoming events during the remainder of the summer months.
Canada The Canadian staff enjoyed having Michael Ramsden visit Canada for Truth Search '08. His messages were powerful and well-received, with over 1,500 people attending the last night of the event.
Rachel Tulloch continued her apologetic teaching series on Sunday, June 15. We are looking forward to hearing an update from this series soon.
Singapore L.T. Jeyachandran conducted a seminar on apologetics at St. Hilda's Church on June 7 and will speak at Evangel Christian Church Camp from June 18-22.
I'Ching Thomas had the exciting opportunity to speak at Acton University in Grand Rapids, Michigan, from June 9-15. We will be eagerly awaiting her report in the next e-Letter.
Middle East Christopher:
At the beginning of June, Christopher conducted a one-day seminar at ECC addressing the topic, "Being a Witness at the Marketplace." There were about 90 attendees. At the end of the month, he preached at the Abu Dhabi Canada Church.
D.K.:
The Middle East team recently conducted two trips in the region.
First they traveled to attend the ordination of a M.E. board member. D.K. writes, "Many key figures from the local society, local churches, regional churches, and even from overseas attended the ceremony. It was an excellent opportunity to present RZIM M.E. to leaders, pastors, and key people in the local ministry. I had a wonderful chance to discuss some of the possibilities and the RZIM M.E. agenda. People are excited and waiting to see what the RZIM M.E. team is going to bring to the region. We are working hard to provide the best possible resources and materials for them."
Next they traveled to Egypt and met with pastors and leaders who have expressed their deep love and appreciation for Ravi Zacharias and the RZIM Team. The group they met with are excited to work with the M.E. office to see the ministry bloom in the region. They have offered their facilities and assistance in any way we see a need.
Finally D.K. shares, "In other settings, we are working on translating two of Dr. Ravi's books into Arabic. Also, we will start working on the preparation of the Arabic version of the apologetics curriculum. We thank you for your support, in every form, for you are a blessing to us. With that said, please do keep praying and thinking of us as we do for you."
China Please continue to pray for Grace Lee as she begins ministry in China.
