November 2007 eLetter
As you read this I have just returned from speaking in Oxford, and as you will note, the team is scattered about the globe. But those of us in the US look forward now to a few days to relax, be with loved ones, and spend some time in grateful reflection this Thanksgiving. I am deeply grateful to the Lord for where he has brought us this year and for the opportunities to minister to individuals across the world sharing his truth and love. I am enormously grateful for your friendship as you stand alongside this ministry in your prayers, encouragement, and commitment to what God has called all of us. If you are celebrating Thanksgiving this week, we wish you a meaningful holiday with loved ones. And as you read the reports of our team below, wherever you are in our world, may you be encouraged by the work God is doing and know that you are part of that work, too. Thank you again for your friendship to this ministry. May God bless you.

- The RZIM Foundations of Apologetics Curriculum is now available! Designed to introduce a comprehensive range of apologetic arguments and strategies, and featuring lectures by RZIM's team of apologists, students of this rigorous curriculum will become adept at recognizing the many worldviews influencing our culture and equipped to challenge the assumptions of these worldviews. The first volumes are by Michael Ramsden, Stuart McAllister, Alister McGrath, and Ravi Zacharias and tackle the subjects An Introduction to Apologetics, Truth and Reality, The Existence of God, and Establishing a Worldview. Each study is available individually, allowing you to craft your own experience according to your needs and interests. Complete with an in-depth workbook, you will find the studies foster not only knowledge but also cultivate the skills to communicate that knowledge in a way that is winsome and effective. These first four volumes are now available. Visit the links to view information related to each volume:
Volume 1 - Introduction to Apologetics: Conversations That Count
Volume 2 - Truth and Reality
Volume 3 - The Existence of God
Volume 4 - Establishing a Worldview
- McGrath-Dawkins Debate Does religious belief damage the health of a society, or is it necessary to provide the moral and ethical foundations of a healthy society? Richard Dawkins, author of The God Delusion, and Professor Alister McGrath, Professor of Historical Theology at Oxford University, debated these issues in an event chaired by Joan Bakewell.

United States
Ravi Zacharias
Ravi returned on Saturday, November 17 from Oxford where he delivered a series of lectures to the OCCA students and at Wycliffe Hall. Next, he will be traveling overseas to India on November 24 for a series of conferences, meetings, and events.
Stuart McAllister attended the Evangelical Theological Society meetings in San Diego from November 12-16. From there he went to Toronto to speak at the Augustine Institute on November 17 and 18 before he returned home to enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday.
Alison Thomas was in Pine Mountain, Georgia, from November 17-19 where she spoke at Impact 360, a discipleship retreat center for teens. She discussed the problem of evil with a group of 30 students. From there she will go to Florida to be with her family for Thanksgiving.
United Kingdom
Michael Ramsden spoke to a group of boys at Eton College on Tuesday, November 13, and was very well-received. This was quite a strategic invitation. As you may know, Eton is the best known boys' boarding school in the UK. Hopefully this will lead to another invitation at a later stage, when he might be asked to do a Q & A for a much larger audience. Michael will then be lecturing at Wycliffe Hall on the evening of November 21. Michael has been the speaker at three consecutive evenings of the Alpha Course this autumn. This is being hosted at St Aldate's Church in Oxford. (Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting over ten thought-provoking weekly sessions.) This has been very well attended and there has been a great response so far, with several people coming to Christ.
Amy Orr-Ewing recently spoke in Cambridge, and again there was an immediate response, with eight people giving their lives to Christ at the end of the service. We have been extremely encouraged by the number of people coming to Christ in the past few months.
Amy Orr-Ewing, Michael Ramsden, and John Lennox led the Zacharias Trust training weekend at Hothorpe Hall from November 15-18.
On Jan 5, they are hosting a Zacharias Trust Day in Oxford. This is a day for anyone who is interested in what we do to come and hear Michael and Amy give talks on contemporary challenges we face as Christians at the moment. The title is "Christianity: Dangerous, Divisive, a Delusion?" Please keep them in your prayers for this event.
India
On November 8, Neil Vimalkumar spoke two times and responded to questions at a teen retreat in Neyveli. He enjoyed a fruitful time of ministry as he led the entire program. When a call to commitment was made, ten people came to Christ. On November 18, Neil spoke on apologetics and evangelism to a group of young professionals at "Equipper's," a ministry of UESI (Union of Evangelical Students of India) in Chennai.
Arun Andrews preached at a multi-cultural music event in Cincinnati, Ohio, on November 16.
Please pray for the LFS staff as they prepare for the National Conference in Delhi that will take place November 29 - December 2.
Canada
On October 31 Rachel Tulloch spoke at the Toronto Baptist Seminary. This went very well and there were many intriguing questions from the students. She returned to the seminary the week of November 5 to address the challenge of militant atheism. Rachel also spoke at a downtown Toronto church on Sunday, November 11.
Singapore
L.T. Jeyachandran was on sabbatical from November 8-14. He attended the Evangelical Theological Society conference in San Diego, California, from November 14-16. Please pray for both LT and I'Ching Thomas as they enjoy some much-needed rest after a busy autumn.
Middle East
Please pray for Christopher Darla as he prepares for Michael Ramsden's upcoming meetings in Dubai and continues to meet with pastors and youth leaders from various churches and denominations.
Daniel Khouri is in Atlanta for the next two weeks. He says, "We will be discussing some issues with members of the Atlanta staff, specifically regarding the translation of the website to Arabic, dubbing of some of Ravi's work, and resource centers in the Middle East. Please do pray for us as we have placed our ship in our Lord's hand, that he may steer it to the direction of His will." Daniel and his wife will return back to the Middle East at the end of November.
Senem Ekener returned from traveling during the month of October and said, "I have re-evaluated my vision for Turkey and am currently in prayer, asking God to clarify the prioritries of the ministry plans for the upcoming year. Do continue to pray for us."
