RZIM does not have an official ministry position on the doctrines of the Catholic tradition; RZIM focuses its ministry on evangelism and apologetics and strives to stay true to that vision. Some of Ravi’s Zacharias favorite authors are Catholic (namely G.K. Chesterton and Malcolm Muggeridge), yet he recognizes that there are significant doctrinal differences between Protestants and Catholics. He recommends a book called Roman Catholics and Evangelicals: Agreements and Differences by Norman Geisler (Baker, 1995). Noted Catholic leaders have endorsed the book as a fair assessment of Catholic theology.

The term Catholic does not refer only The Roman Catholic Church. There's Coptic, Orthodox, Eastern Rite Catholic..etc Don't lump us all in with the Papists!

There are several doctrine's in the catholic traditions that seem to be anti-Christ and purgatory is one of them. Having to dwell there to be cleansed of your sins before you can enter heaven is like saying Christ's death on the cross was not sufficient. Confessing your sins to a priest for absolution of your sins by saying so many hail mary's also seems to say the same thing. The practice of praying to the saints and to Mary as mediators between man and God is not a Christian doctrine

Catholics and Protestants both need to get out of the doctrine box. Stop putting labels on one another and so-called non-believers. It is time for people to acknowledge God's Blessings everyday and share the gratitude with others, so they too can recognize the simple graces. Remind everyone they are children of God.

Some of Ravi's positions seem to preclude any Roman Catholic understanding of soteriology; for example, in the 1990's he signed his name on an Evangelical document which reaffirmed, among other things, the doctrine of Sola Fide (that the saved are saved through faith in Christ alone, apart from works) which stands in stark contrast to the Catholic doctrine.

as sure as the prophecies in the bible go,the new approach by the new pope going against all set traditions of the rom. cath. church by extending an invite to the displeased anglican priests shows you the thin line demacarting the so called protestants and the papists!watch keenly to see the unveiling of the new order thats veiled as true, but at the core is pure anti-Christ.keep watch!
