Ravi's Update from the Philippines

Ravi Zacharias recently concluded a 12-day visit to the Philippines, where his agenda included several high profile speaking events in Manila, interviews with national media, private meetings with influential leaders, and strategic discussions with RZIM-Asia staff and supporters gathered in Balesin Island from across the continent.

Highlights in Manila included Zacharias’s address to several hundred business and government leaders at the Inspire Leadership Consultancy banquet, his message to 12,000 people at Christ’s Commission Fellowship’s “Unshakable” Conference, and his participation in an evangelistic event focused on reaching celebrities from the Film, Arts, Music, and Entertainment (F.A.M.E.) industries where he was joined by actor Stephen Baldwin.

“The Philippines is one of my favorite countries to visit and I am always touched by the hospitality and warmth of the people here,” said Zacharias. “Being here in the Philippines, we get the sense that RZIM is under God on a mission. This ministry is for the glory of God – not the glory of man – and I am delighted to see all that God is doing in this country and across Asia.”

Zacharias’s local host was Dr. Hayden Kho, a Filipino celebrity cosmetic doctor, businessman, actor and model who came to faith in Jesus Christ in May 2013 after hearing Zacharias share an impromptu message at an event for business leaders. “God is the only one who can bring together a reluctant speaker and a reluctant listener and fulfill His beautiful plan,” Kho explained in an interview with The Philippine Star.

Zacharias was joined in Philippines by RZIM itinerants Nabeel Qureshi, Tracy Trinita, Michelle Tepper, I'Ching Thomas, Jose Philip, RZIM Asia director Howard Abe, RZIM Europe director Michael Ramsden, associate lecturer John Bechtel, ministry friends Sanj Kalra and Luke Baker, as well as several other members of the global RZIM team.
