“In Jesus Christ we have a paradigm to a whole new approach to success, If you don’t already know you're important under God, then whatever it is that gives you importance will ultimately own you. If you have nothing to live for other than your own significance, you will increasingly feel more insignificant.”
— Daniel Rangel addressing the question “what is success?” during Austin Think Week 2018.
Daniel Rangel is the CEO of Houston International Equipment Inc., an energy corporation serving the global pumping market. He also serves as an Adjunct Speaker for RZIM. In bridging these two fields, Daniel is uniquely placed to address some of the deepest questions emerging from the business world with a Christian perspective.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Daniel formerly worked designing offshore drilling platforms as an engineer for various projects in the Gulf of Mexico and the North Sea. He then became an International Sales Manager overseeing clientele across Latin America while living in Quito, Ecuador. He received his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University before graduating from the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics.
Growing up Mexican-American and having worked in Latin America, Daniel has a strong compassion for the developing world, which drives him today to work in emerging economies across Latin America.
Looking to the future, Daniel has hopes to integrate his engineering training with his love for sustainable energy to help build and develop local communities through eco-markets and church planting.
I long to see real change in our shifting and dissatisfied world—we need spiritual, economical, ecological, and sustainable changes that actually make a difference. I want to be a part of that; I believe this is the joyful burden of Christians, to live the pains and joys with our neighbors and to offer the truth-filled everlasting hope of the gospel.
